Adonys Henriquez, who averaged 10.5 ppg over two seasons at Central Florida, has transferred to Saint Louis University, SLU head coach Travis Ford announced today.

Per NCAA transfer regulations, Henriquez will sit out next season and will be eligible to compete for the Billikens in 2017-18 and 2018-19.

“We are so excited to welcome Adonys into our program,” Ford said. “He is a high-level scorer who can play multiple positions. Adonys scores on all three levels and is a knock-down shooter. The experience he is going to bring to our roster is invaluable. Billikens fans are going to love watching Adonys play each and every night.”

A 6-foot-6 guard from Orlando, Henriquez is a proven 3-point shooter. In 2014-15, he drained 65 3-pointers, the second-most ever by a UCF freshman. Last season, he led the Knights and ranked 12th in the American Athletic Conference with 1.9 triples per contest.

Last year, Henriquez averaged 10.1 ppg (second on team) and 3.1 rpg. As a freshman in 2014-15, he collected American Athletic Conference All-Rookie team honors after averaging 10.8 ppg. He shot 42.8 percent (107-250) from the field and 39.4 percent (65-165) from 3-point range.

Henriquez was highly regarded out of high school as he was listed as high as No. 26 and the 17th-best wing in the country by ESPN. He helped Orlando Christian Prep to state championships as a senior and sophomore. During his senior year at OCP, Henriquez averaged 14.5 ppg and 4.5 apg and shot 53 percent from the floor.

Henriquez is the second transfer and fourth newcomer on next year’s roster. He joins junior D.J. Foreman (Spring Valley, N.Y./Rutgers) and freshmen Jalen Johnson (Baton Rouge, La.) and Zeke Moore (St. Louis, Mo.).
