Four Billikens Record Double-Digit Kills in Loss to Davidson

The Billiken quad of Nenye Okoro (16 kills), Lauren Leverenz (16), Megan Gilbert(15) and Josie Gandall (13) each recorded double-digit kills as the Billikens fell to Davidson in five sets (25-21, 25-9, 20-25, 23-25, 16-18). Saint Louis falls to 12-6 overall and 2-2 in Atlantic 10 contests.

Okoro (15) and Gandall (17) also recorded double-digit digs to complete double-doubles. Meredith Boe had a match-high 49 assists, Nicole Sniffen had a match-high eight blocks and Anna Churchled SLU with 19 digs.

The Billikens and Wildcats were tough in the first set, but a six-point SLU rally ended the first set with a 25-21 Billiken win. Gilbert led the way with seven kills for the Bills.

Saint Louis dominated the second set from the start, topping Davidson 25-9. Gandall, Okoro and Leverenz had four kills apiece in the second. Boe had three aces as well. The Billikens had an attack percentage of .520 while holding the Wildcats to .053.

Davidson made adjustments at the break to win the next three sets and capture the match.

Next up for the Billikens are a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference match ups. Saint Louis will play George Washington in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 10 before traveling to George Mason on Oct. 11.
