Saint Louis sophomore Brianna Lore (Sullivan, Mo./Sullivan) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference softball co-Pitcher of the Week for the period of April 21-27.
It is the fourth A-10 weekly honor this season for Lore, who previously was chosen Pitcher of the Week twice in addition to earning a Player of the Week nod. She has five conference weekly awards in her career, adding this year’s plaudits to a Rookie of the Week selection in 2013.

Lore posted a 4-0 record and a 2.03 ERA last week. She appeared in all six Billiken games and started five, including all four conference contests. Lore had 28 strikeouts and just 10 walks in 31 innings, and she surrendered only five extra-base hits (all doubles).

Lore began the week by twirling a one-hitter and striking out six in an 8-0 victory over Southeast Missouri State April 23. The shutout was her second of the season. She fanned six in a complete-game, 7-4 win at George Washington April 25, a victory that tied her for first place on SLU’s single-season victories list.

The left-hander picked up her school-record 19th win in game one of a doubleheader at George Mason April 27. She pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings in the Billikens’ 5-3 triumph, striking out seven and yielding three hits and no walks. Lore went the distance in game two, firing a three-hitter with six strikeouts and just one walk as the Bills edged the Patriots 2-1.

Lore leads the A-10 with 20 wins (20-11) and carries a 2.66 ERA. She averages just 2.01 walks per seven innings and has a 2.34 strikeouts-to-walks ratio.

Saint Louis players have been recognized seven times and have earned all three A-10 weekly awards this season. Mackenzie Peter and Lindsay Friedman join Lore as recipients of Player of the Week accolades, while Alex Nickel has collected Rookie of the Week laurels.

The Billikens (25-19, 10-5 A-10) are in second place in the A-10 with two conference games remaining, a home doubleheader vs. La Salle Saturday, May 3, that begins at noon. Before that, Saint Louis hosts Bradley in a single game Wednesday, April 30, at 7 p.m.
