Hailey Weavers hit her second home run of the season and also doubled in Saint Louis’ 4-1 loss to SIUE Wednesday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
Weavers’ home run came with one out in the seventh and spoiled a shutout for SIUE hurler Erin Greenwalt (7-7), who surrendered just four hits. Kelsey Biggs and Elizabeth Everingham singled for Saint Louis (18-15).
SIUE (16-18) tallied an unearned run in the first, scored twice in the fourth and plated an unearned insurance marker in the seventh against Billiken left-hander Brianna Lore. Lore (14-9) struck out four, allowed six hits and walked one.
The Billikens host Atlantic 10 Conference opponent Saint Joseph’s in a single game Friday, April 11. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
