Sophomore Braxton Martinez blasted two home runs to lead Saint Louis to a 10-0 win over North Dakota. The win is the Billikens’ fourth in a row. Saint Louis is now 7-6 overall. Junior James Norwood (2-0) picked up the win.
Martinez (2-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 4 RBI) wasn’t the only Billiken to have a good day at the plate. Junior Alec Solé went 3-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. Danny Murphy andJake Henson each went 2-5. Henson added an RBI and scored twice while Murphy added a run scored.
On the hill, Norwood hurled seven scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and one walk while striking out two. Freshman Robert Plohr entered the game in relief and threw two scoreless innings with two punchouts.
The Billikens and North Dakota wrap up the four-game series tomorrow, March 9 at noon at the Lou Brock Sports Complex at Lindenwood University. Southpaw Josh Moore is scheduled to get the start for SLU.
